Unofficial MAME 32 0.35b1! - January 13, '99 by JoseQ
Videoman has released again an unofficial version of MAME 32 for all those of you, NT fans, who were eagerly awaiting to play Rolling Thunder on your PC. You may download this version from the Emulators Page. Remember this file is in no way affiliated with either MAME or the MAME32 guys, so please do not e-mail those people about troubles you may have. This version includes support for the six new games included in the MAME 0.35b1 ROMs Page which you can already download. If you're an NT user, or like to stay in Windows mode, you must try this release.
For those interested in benchmarks, I'm pretty sure that this version outperforms the DOS version, at least on Pentium II chipsets which are optimized for 32-bit instructions. I tried Smash TV on Windows NT and MAME 32 0.34 final, and surprisingly it ran full speed with sound enabled. Unfortunately the frames per second counter on the top of the screen didn't work and showed all kinds of crazy numbers so I can't tell you exactly what frame rates I was able to accomplish. Please refer to the MAME 32 Q&A Page for some benchmarking numbers you may use and the latest news on the Official version of MAME32.
